Shinichi Chiaki overcomes his phobia of flying, while Megumi "Nodame" Noda's outstanding performance at a piano competition gets her a scholarship at the famed Conservatoire de Paris. Chiaki, as a young emerging conductor under the tutelage of the legendary maestro Franz von Stresemann, and Nodame, as a student of the esteemed piano professor Charles Auclair, travel to Paris together to take the next step in their careers. Of course, the music industry is considerably larger than the two of them could have dreamed. Chiaki and Nodame must struggle and persist with old friends and new adversaries to achieve the brilliant musical heights that await them while never losing sight of what is most important.
