A strange phenomena known as the Global Synchronic Urban Disappearance caused a big portion of Ikebukuro to vanish suddenly five years ago. Following the disaster, the residents were plunged into chaos, and inexplicable electromagnetic abnormalities known as "Auroras" began to be seen. Seria Morino, a high school girl, is inspired to become an idol after witnessing idol Izumi Hinazaki's performance at a play using the "Super Material Theater," a theater created to reinvigorate Ikebukuro with hologram-enhanced performances. Soon later, she is scouted by a young lady called Kaoru Sakakibara, who turns out to be the director of Alice in Theater, the group in which Izumi previously performed. Seria chooses to follow Kaoru's lead and joins the group.
