Humanity is under assault by an extraterrestrial race known as the Novas decades in the future. When these monstrous monsters arise, they leave devastation in their path, and the efforts to keep them at bay have become known as Nova Clashes. Young women known as "Pandoras" and young men known as "Limiters" are implanted with stigmata to provide them superhuman abilities and taught in military schools, where they must learn to work together if mankind is to survive. Freezing follows Kazuya Aoi as he begins his first day at the West Genetics military college, just as the Pandoras engage in a combat royale. It is at this point that he misidentifies Satellizer el Bridget, a strong Pandora known as  the "Untouchable Queen"—as his deceased sister and embraces her.
