Shoutarou Futaba has always enjoyed sports, but on his middle school baseball team, he was never more than a benchwarmer. He chooses to watch a rhythmic gymnastics contest on the spur of the moment after seeing a group of gymnasts exercising in the park. Despite putting on an exciting show at the competition, the Shoushukan High School Rhythmic Gymnastics Club comes in second-to-last due to penalties for not having a full six-man roster. Shoutarou is captivated by the display of skill, and despite having no prior experience in the sport, he enrolls at Shoushukan in the hopes of joining the squad. Ryouya Misato, a prodigal gymnast who finished second in a junior tournament, is also recruited by the club. The club is ready to compete now that it has a full six-man roster.
